In Puerto Rico, offers private and public universities in which the costs of their education change significantly. The University of Puerto Rico is the system's oldest college, more complete, with more rigor and excellence in Puerto Rico. The UPR consists of 11 campus units located throughout the island. Provides a wide range of financial aid programs. Offers associate degree programs and, bachelor's degree, masters, doctorates and a host of continuing education programs. It is accredited by the major American professional bodies, facilitating further graduate studies in the United States. Articulated Transfer Programs, allow you to start college in a unit close to home and then complete the race in the enclosures where the degree is granted. All the academic units are specialized in a concentration. The 11 campus are:
• UPR Aguadilla
It offers associate degrees and maintains partnerships with industry and neighboring businesses. Design courses,programs and projects that respond to changing needs that occur in that region.
• UPR Arecibo
Offers associate degree and bachelor´s degrees. The distinction of being the best in the Bachelor of Communication Tele-Radial in Puerto Rico. And the program of Bachelor of Elementary Education is known for getting excellent grades in the teacher certification exams of the country's education system.
• UPR Bayamón
He has extraordinary athletic achievements of students, and extracurricular activities like music and theater are widely recognized. Offers Extended University program has partnerships with companies and industries in the area where students can do internships and practical programs before graduation.
• UPR Carolina
It features excellent high school programs in Graphic Arts and Advertising Sales,where it offers the opportunity to develop advertising strategies to real customers.It has the first accredited program in Hotel and Restaurant Administration and articulated transfer program at the Medical Sciences Campus in several areas. It has an extensive calendar of sporting and cultural activities throughout the year.
• UPR Cayey
It is a school from diverse fields because it offers a wide range of academic programs in multiple disciplines. Has articulated transfer program at the Medical Sciences Campus or the University of Mayagüez. Has a student program to provide research experiences for students of Biology and RISE, which promotes student participation in scientific research in university laboratories outside Puerto Rico.
• UPR Ciencias Médicas
Multiple programs of study in the health field, including associate degrees, bachelor degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates, master's, doctoral, nursing, post-doctoral degrees. Prepare their students in specific disciplines within the field of health to exercise positions that complement medical care. Provide community services,through clinics and research projects of international significance in alliance with U.S. and international universities.
• UPR Humacao
It is in a place where outstanding chemical and pharmaceutical industries and
electronics as well as several areas of ecological and tourist value, therefore, provides unique bachelor´s degrees programs in the UPR system to meet the demand for labor in this region, such as: Industrial Chemistry, Computational Mathematics, Applied Physical Electronics, Coastal Marine Biology and Wildlife Management.
• UPR Mayagüez
Local and internationally recognized for their engineering programs, as: Agricultural Science and Technology. Has an extensive academic offering in its four faculties of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration and Agricultural Sciences.Modern houses of study and research centers also serve the academic community,contributing greatly to the scientific and social development. The RUM has an active drama department, known as the "TeatRUM" Banda, String Orchestra, Cheerleading,excellent sports teams and over 70 student organizations.
• UPR Ponce
Has a program that combines study and work simultaneously (practice).It also serves as a starting point for students interested in entering engineering programs at the University of Mayagüez through the articulated transfer.
• UPR Rio Piedras
The Rio Piedras Campus University of Puerto Rico offers over 80 undergraduate programs, over 55 masters and 14 doctoral programs. It is the leading research University in Puerto Rico and has a system of 29 libraries. The site has a museum, theater, radio station, newspaper and digital printing, multiple sports facilities,research centers and over 50 recognized student organizations,are noted for their international recognition of the University Choir,The Tuna of the University and Traveling Theatre.
• UPR Utuado
He specializes in agricultural technological studies. Established projects that promote integrated research, technical and humanistic issues related to agriculture and rural life in the local and international environment. These are: Centre for Research and Documentation Ocean Affairs, Project for the valuation of Contemporary Rural Life, Joint Learning Communities and Sustainability First Year Infrastructure
